Our activities and services include:
Monthly Meetings: Join us on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30 pm for our regular meetings. These gatherings are a great opportunity to connect with fellow genealogy enthusiasts, share discoveries, and learn from expert speakers.
Research Assistance: Whether you’re just starting out or have hit a brick wall in your research, our experienced members are here to offer guidance and support. We provide access to a variety of resources, including historical records, databases, and specialized tools.
Workshops and Seminars: Enhance your genealogical skills through our educational workshops and seminars. These sessions cover a wide range of topics, from basic research techniques to advanced DNA analysis.
Community Projects: Participate in projects that help preserve and document local history. Our members work together to transcribe records, maintain archives, and contribute to the preservation of our community’s heritage.
Social Events: Enjoy social events and outings that allow members to bond and share their passion for genealogy in a relaxed and friendly environment.
By joining the Waitaki Society of Genealogists, you'll become part of a supportive community dedicated to exploring and preserving the stories of our ancestors. We look forward to welcoming you at our next meeting!

We are responsible for the governance of the Waitaki Society of Genealogists and for making sure that our organisation is doing its best to support genealogists in Waitaki.
During our monthly meetings, we check if we are still on track according to our intended mission, strategy and goals.
Every year we hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to present the outcomes and our future plans. You are always welcome to attend the AGM.
